Group helps hurt jockeys with auction and concert

Ripon charity Middle of the Road Trust Fund has organised an Abba tribute band and an auction to raise money for a centre helping injured jockeys.

The Abba night, taking place at Ripon Bowling Club on Saturday, November 8, from 7.30pm, and the auction, which is on a sealed bid basis with winners revealed after the concert, are raising money for the Jack Berry Centre at Malton.

Tickets to the concert priced £10 are available from the Spa Pharmacy on Westgate and Ripon Bowling Club. Among the lots are: a visit for four people to David Pipe’s stable in Somerset including a champagne breakfast, four racing tickets and signed photo of horse Comply or Die in a silver frame (reserve price £150); stable visit for four to Clive Brittain’s stable in Suffolk; visit plus champagne breakfast to Tom Dascome’s stable in Cheshire; visit to Jamie Osbourne’s stable in Berkshire; visit to James Given’s stable in Lincolnshire; stable visit to Jonjo O’Neill’s stable in Gloucestershire (reserve price £150); 18-hole golf for four people at Southwell; two tickets to Nottingham races in 2015; two tickets to Uttoxeter races in 2014.
