Knaresborough independent craft brewers Roosters are inviting the public to an open day on Saturday, August 1 to celebrate Yorkshire Day with a pint, some top notch street food and some funky live music.

Owners Oliver and Tom Fozard are also inviting visitors to sign up for a tour of the brewery while they’re there.

Also on offer will be live music plus delicious street food vendors and, obviously, the Roosters’ range of our beers available, served from a mixture of cask, keg, can and bottle, whilst each customer will be given their own Rooster’s pint glass to keep with their first beer.

The strength of Roosters’ growing reputation is based on the two brothers’ passion for hops and the flavours they impart on beer – utilising varieties from around the globe, including Australia, New Zealand, Slovenia and North America.

Saturday’s Brewery Open Day event will run from noon to 5pm at their premises on Grimbald Park off Wetherby Road in Knaresborough near the bypass.

For the Open Day, Fozards will also welcome a representative from the fund-raising organisation they’ve chosen to benefit from this year’s brew of White Rose (4.0%) , which will help to raise money towards the availability of public access defibrillators in Knaresborough.

On the menu will be juicy burgers and authentic Sri Lankan curry (vegetarian option).

Always keen on fresh ideas, earlier in the year Roosters launched their first canned beers - Yankee (the brewery’s flagship beer), Fort Smith (an American-style pale ale) and Baby-Faced Assassin (an India Pale Ale) making the brewery Yorkshire’s first micro-canner, one of only a small number in the UK.

The move into the canned beer market reflects the brewery’s continued focus on quality and comes as part of a year of significant investment that has already seen new vessels and equipment installed, as well as an enlarged cold store.
