Ripon Film Society has announced it will be showing the remainder of its season of films at the Curzon Ripon cinema on North Street in the city.
Graham Foulger, chairman of the group which had previously screened films at Ripon Leisure Centre, said society members were pleased with their new home.
“We set up the film society to show the best of world cinema in Ripon and we’re pleased that after 15 years we now have a cinema in Ripon and – even better – one that shows a wide-range of films from around the world,” he said.
Curzon Cinemas, which opened its latest venue in Ripon at the end of November, is equally pleased with the new arrangement.
Mel Alcock, chief operating officer for the group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ripon Film Society to Curzon Ripon this month to begin their excellent programme of films.
“We look forward to working together now and in the future on a shared mission of bring outstanding films to the local community.”
Film society movies will be shown every two weeks up to April 9. Its next film, to be shown on Wednesday, January 29, at 8pm, is French comedy La Source des Femmes.
