Top lady golfer Jodi returns to Masham ahead of British Ladies Open battle

International golfer Jodi Ewart Shaddoff took time out from her intensive training schedule at Masham Golf Club to meet up with captains Howard Falshaw and Barbara Jameson, and talk about her chances at the Ricoh Ladies British Open which starts at St Andrews today.

Accompanied by her lifelong coach, Masham pro Andy Marshall, she was also enthusiastic about her chances of qualifying to join the European team for the Solheim Cup at the Colorado Golf Club.

The Rolex World’s 43rd ranked lady golfer, Jodi, who has been coached by Andy since she was eight, is originally from Middleham.

Now 25, married to Adam, and living permanently in Saratosa, Florida, Jodi only gets back to England either for competition or to visit family at Christmas.

Life for Jodi, since turning professional in 2010 and playing on the Ladies Professional Golf Association circuit, is all about golf. She has competed in 14 tour competitions this year, including tieing fourth in the US Women’s Open on Long Island, New York and tieing third in the Marathon Classic, Sylviana, Ohio.

Jodi asked the captains to pass on her thanks to the greens staff, committee and members of Masham Golf Club for preparing the course to meet her training needs.

In conclusion the Masham Captains thanked Jodi for her time in talking to them and sent the best of wishes from the club for a successful four days of Women’s British Open Golf.
