Wetherby RUFC returned to form with a ten-try 60-0 victory over Hornsea in Yorkshire Four on Saturday.

Wetherby hit the front foot from the start when Connor Sheriden fielded a kick and carved his way to put Barney Roberts in for an excellent try, converted by Alex Dus.

Andy Trotman then charged down a clearance and ran in by the posts to which Alex Dus added the points.

Wetherby’s forwards enjoyed dominance and hammered at the Hornsea line.

And Elliot Griffiths barrelled his way over before Taff Olte emerged to score from a driving maul.

The scoring continued when the promising Will Jefferson set up an attack which enabled Andy Trotman to force his way over.

Hornsea lifted their game and went on a rare period of attack but the Reds held firm and turned defence into attack for Paul Martinski to finish the half scoring.

Liam Hogan drove into the heart of the visitors defence after the break allowing the backs to put Sheriden in for his second, Dus converting.

Barney Roberts then picked up a broken Hornsea attack before racing 40 meters and giving Andy Trotman an easy run in.

The best try of the game came when Tom Edwards broke at speed and crisp handling by Sean Lally passed on to Harry Kaye to score, Dus obliging with the conversion.

Martinski wrapped up the scoring after Andy Trotman fainted to go inside.
