Marathon trio dip under bests as Ripon Runners tour England

Ripon Runners excelled when covering all corners of England on Sunday.

Three Ripon Runners set personal best times at marathon distance.

Simon Merrin travelled south to the Brighton Marathon to raise £500 for charity and he ran to the line in three hours 28 minutes.

Ben Imeson (2.55) also took on the 26.2 mile distance in Manchester to run sub three hours. Alex Fawcett took nine minutes off his previous marathon best to finish in 3:13

At the Harewood 10k in Leeds, Anthony Jefford was the first Ripon member back in seventh in 39 minutes 35 seconds. Sharon Barlow Hamilton proved she was fully recovered after missing the Thirsk 10 to win the female race in 40:22, with Donna Riddler (44:03) third.

Ian Swinscoe travelled to the Lincoln 10k, and put in his best display this year for a course PB in 46:02

The Yorkshire Dales hosted the Blubberhouses 25 mile.

The anticipated rain held off for most of the day and Paul Walker again proved to be king of these events with a 3 hour 47 minute finish.

Also competing were Ray Raper and Iain Wallace (4:08), Jo Wallace and Matthew Holt (4:28), Tim Joynson (4:46), and Jill Holt and Simon McCudden (4:57).
