ST John Fisher School student Jonathan Dudley is setting his sights on a place at the 2013 Commonwealth Youth Games after a great showing at the World Biathle Championships in Bulgaria last month.

The Year 11 pupil represented the United Kingdom at the event in Sofia, and placed eighth in the Youth B group.

Training up to 16 and a half hours a week, Jonathan has been competing in triathlons for the past two years and was selected to compete in the Biathle World Championships after his performance in the British championships in Salford earlier in the summer.

The biathle event consists of a 1000m run followed by a 200m swim, then another 1000m run. Jonathan finished in a time of nine minutes four seconds.
