HARROGATE Town boss Simon Weaver made several changes to his side on Saturday, and the gamble paid off as they picked up three points at rock-bottom Eastwood Town.

Jonny Allan’s injury time strike was the only goal in the contest, but Town enjoyed a decent start as Alan White’s header hit the post, Paul Brayson nearly pulled off a backheeled kick, and Lee Elam went close with a free kick.

The hosts had their moments, Mark Cook forced to save a shot from from Jake Green, but Town ended the half on an upswing, as Tom Platt’s shot was deflected out for a corner Richard Pell nodded wide of goal.

A foul by Matt Bloomer earned him a yellow card and Markell Bailey a free kick, but Cook had little trouble in saving Alex Troke’s dead ball effort.

There were chances for Alex Meechan and Brayson as Town continued to push, before Jonny Allan and Rob Youhill arrived to replace Chib Chilaka and Meechan.

Eastwood were just starting to push hard when Craig Radcliffe was released on a run down the left, and his deep cross over the top of the Eastwood defence was smashed in by Allan to grab the points.

Town are back in action on Tuesday night, in a rearranged clash at Guiseley.

Meanwhile in the Evo-Stik First Division North, HARROGATE RAILWAY were disappointed at Bamber Bridge, losing 3-2.

Railway were 2-0 down after goals by Matt Mahoney and Leon McLoughlin but Colin Hunter reduced the deficit in the 72nd minute.

Dan Mahoney made it 3-1 to the hosts on 86 minutes, although Railway’s Dan Thirkell narrowed the gap with a goal a minute from time

TADCASTER ALBION saw their hopes of victory snatched away at Maltby Main, Liam Shepherd’s 14th minute strike putting them in the ascendancy.

But Jonathan Wragg slammed in a 90th minute goal to share the spoils.
