Kirk Deighton Rangers U-17s failed in their bid to retain the League Cup, after losing out to Ilkley 3-2 in a thrilling game at Grange Park.
Nil-nil after 30 minutes Deighton trailed 3-0 at half time, and Ilkley went down to 10 men with another shown the yellow.
A bright start to the second half reduced the mountain Deighton had to climb, when Dom Slater turned on the edge of the box and shot hard and low.3-1.
A period of concerted pressure led to several chances but Owen Davies broke from defence and unleashed a screamer into the top corner from 25 yards, just before the whistle.
Deighton have a chance to gain revenge in a fortnight when they host Ilkley in the league.

Pannal Sports U-15s captured a 4-1 win over Knaresborough Hoops in the Main League Cup quarter-final.
George Mills scored their first, with a clever one-two with Harry Robertson.Not long after he added a second.
In the second half, Knaresborough pulled one back, with a header from a corner but Mills completed his hat-trick with a wonderful lob of the goalkeeper.
Sam Cowham then scored to make the final score 4-1.
Pannal Sports Man of the Match was Hugh Lewis, for some outstanding attacking runs.
A Jorge Sikora hat-trick helped Harrogate and Craven Schools U-12s romp to a 7-0 victory over Bradford at Silsden AFC.
Josh Wicks opened the scoring before Sikora netted his first, Harrogate 2-0 up at the break.
After the break, the rout continued with Sikora adding another two, with additional strikes from Jamira Adam, Lucas Abusin and Jack Parkinson.
