Hannah Campbell scored her second hattrick in two weeks as Harrogate Railway Ladies thrashed Brayton Belles to end their season in fine fettle.

Having secured the title the week before, ‘Rail enjoyed the party atmosphere but Brayton fought hard to ruin celebrations.

‘Rail pressed high up the pitch with midfield trio Nicola Hadley, Jodie Hodgson and Ellie McLeod.

But they struggled to pierce the Belles defence until Campbell was brought down in the area after latching onto Dee Swales’ cross. Campbell stepped up to stroke home the spotkick.

‘Rail searched for a second but their stopper Emma Prest had to be at her best to deny Brayton’s chances.

Five minutes after half-time Railway doubled their lead when Campbell met a Lauren Taylor pass to score a one on one.

Brayton pulled a goal back but sturdy defence from Aly Purvis, Emma Lansdall, Kat Purvis and Issy Rowe kept them at bay for the rest of the contest.

Taylor then nodded in a third from a corner before Campbell struck a killer blow with a minute remaining.

Railway are looking for new players. Any interested players aged 16+ should contact Simon on 07740591697.
