A RIPON area man had to be cut from his car when it crashed off the road near Skelton-on-Ure yesterday afternoon.
The Boroughbridge to Ripon road was closed for four hours while firefighters fought to free the 36-year-old.
The man’s silver Astra had been in a collision with a Mercedes van just before 2pm yesterday, Thursday, June 30, on the B6265 near Skelton windmill when it crashed off the road, through a hedge and into a field.
The road was closed from the A168 roundabout at Kirby Hill as far as the Marton-le-Moor turning off the B6265.
Firefighters has to cut the roof of the Astra to free the trapped driver, who was taken to Leeds General Infirmary but his injuries were not serious and we was discharged later that day.
The other driver was not injured and his van only had minor damage.
