Car rescued from river near Thirsk

Firefighters have rescued a car from a river at Dalton industrial estate.

Crews were called to the scene at around 5.30pm yesterday. Monday, July 16, and found a car in the river but the male driver already out of the vehicle.

Firefighters used a special water rescue unit to get the car out of the water, a fire service spokesman said.

They spent around an hour retrieving the vehicle, he added.
