A61 closed after serious accident

The A61 between Harewood and Harrogate has been closed following a serious crash.

One passenger has been airlifted to the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) with serious head injuries.

Three people had to be cut from a car by the fire service and were taken to the LGI after the two car crash which happened at around 3pm today (May 19).

The crash involved a black Renault Clio and black Hyundai I30.

Transdev have diverted the 36 bus through Arthington and Pool and long queues are expected as the road is closed between Harewood and the Buttersyke Bar roundabout.
