A REGULAR contender in the World's Strongest Man competition is returning to his home town of Boroughbridge to open a multi-purpose gym.
Darren Sadler is taking time out from the international competition circuit to open the doors of his Absolute Fitness gym on a special open day next month.
Mr Sadler, 28, said: “I have been getting people all the time telling me to open somewhere – I have just been looking for the right building.”
Until now, the former Boroughbridge High School pupil has dedicated much of his time to competing on a semi-prtoffessional level around the world on the Strongest Man circuit. However, he felt the time had now come to open his new gym.
He said: “I just decided there was something I wanted to do and Boroughbridge doesn’t really have a dedicated gym.
“It means I can dedicate more time to my training and put more time into helping others.”
Mr Sadler is keen stress that the gym is not just for musclemen and fitness fanatics.
“It’s an all-round gym for all ages and sexes,” he explained. “There will be a beauty salon, aerobic exercises, spinning classes and a running club too.”
Absolute Fitness is in Barr Lane Industrial Estate and will be welcoming potential members to an open day from 10am to 4pm on April 6.
