Star stage roles for youngsters

LOOKING forward to their starring roles in Harrogate Saint Andrew's Players' (HSAP) new production of 'Annie' at Harrogate Theatre next week are two very experienced young performers.

Having already appeared together at the Bradford Alhambra when the two shared the role of Jemima Potts in Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang, Chloe Campbell, 10, and Lydia Bradd, 11, are looking forward to working together again.

Sharing the title role in the hugely-popular musical, Chloe is currently in Year 6 at Methley Primary School, Leeds while Lydia comes from Knaresborough and attends Harrogate Ladies’ College.

For Lydia, this will be her third production with HSAP. She has appeared in musicals such as Meet me in St Loius, Bugsy Malone, The Wizard of Oz and also numerous pantomimes.

Chloe, who started dancing at the age of three at the Lara Academy of Dance in Leeds and has a big collection of medals and trophies she has won in dance competitions across the country, is also a member of the Scala Performing Arts School.

She has appeared in panto at Wakefield Theatre Royal and her voice has been used in a Christmas Bisto commercial. Her TV appearances have included working alongside Sir David Jason and appearing in Emmerdale and The Royal.
