A record crowd turned out to this year’s Countryside Live event which organisers have hailed the “best ever” in its 11-year history.
The agricultural showcase, held last Saturday and Sunday at the Great Yorkshire Showground, drew huge crowds of 12,689 for the first time since it was launched in 2002.
Organisers the Yorkshire Agricultural Society have said it was an “outstanding success”, building on last year’s attendance by more than five per cent.
“This is an absolutely super figure,” said show director Bill Cowling. “It underlines the value of Countryside Live to the farming and rural community, and people really enjoy it.”
