Unique chance to get involved

RICHMONDSHIRE residents are being urged to join councillors as they review public services.

The District Council’s Scrutiny Committees want to see more people getting involved in their work by becoming co-opted members of these bodies.

In the past 12 months Community Physiotherapy Services, Disabled Facilities Grants, Changes to Stroke Services and Streetscene and Flytipping has been examined to name but a few.

Scrutiny Chairman, Councillor Paul Cullen said: “We welcome the involvement of our residents.

“To get more people on board we are inviting expressions of interest from anyone with relevant specialist knowledge and experience who is interested in co-option to a scrutiny committee to participate in either its wider range of work or for its time-specific projects.”

He emphasised that co-option in either role does not include voting rights.
