Ripon council gives grants to city

Ripon City Council has announced grants totalling £28,400 it is distributing to community groups that benefit residents of the city.

Grants have been given to the following organisations: Ripon Youth Café – £500; Carers Resource – £400; Cathedral Concert Society – £1,000; Rotary Club of Ripon – £200; Family Breakfast Club, Holy Trinity Church – £300; Ripon Young Musicians – £500; Harrogate and Ripon CVS – £4,000; Bread of Life – £1,000; Ripon International Festival – £1,000; Ripon Festivals – £1,000, Greater Ripon Improvement Partnership –£5,000; Ripon Citizens Advice Bureau – £2,000; Ripon Armed Forces Day –£700; Ripon in Bloom – £4,900; St Cecilia Orchestra – £2,000; Walled Garden Scheme – £3,500; Dementia Forward – £400.

The council has brought forward the closing dates for requests for grant aid to October 31 for the next financial year, 2014/2015, to enable councillors to consider requests received when planning the budget for the next financial year.
