Northallerton toilet debate continues

District councillors have issued a three-month deadline to secure the future of Northallerton’s public toilets.

Hambleton’s cabinet will consider the matter once more in October after officers have looked again at all options for the running of the facilities.

As part of their budget savings, district councillors agreed earlier this year to look to transfer the operation of all public toilets to the local town and parish councils.

Agreements have already been reached to transfer the toilets in Thirsk, Great Ayton, Osmotherley, Stokesley, Swainby, Easingwold and Bedale.
