New musical talent harvested

Tadcaster church St Mary’s has announced that Adam Parrish is the new organist and Musical Director.

Adam, from York, brings a wealth of experience for his young years and takes up his new position in time to lead the Harvest Festival with a concert tomorrow, September 23 at 7.30pm in the Church. Adam will be joined by soprano Scarlett Quigley and they will present a varied musical programme.

Tickets, £8 on the door, to include cheese and wine.

Harvest Festival celebrations continue on Saturday, coinciding with the annual Tadcaster Duck Race, with the Church being fully decorated by its talented group of ‘flower ladies’.

There will be a cake stall, coffee, bacon butties, light lunches with afternoon tea and cake from 10am-4pm in the Boys’ Sunday School, alongside the Church. The Church charity shop,’ Hidden Treasures’ will also be open on the Saturday from 10am-noon.

To conclude the weekend celebrations, the Harvest Festival Service at St Mary’s on Sunday 25 will be at 10.30am.
