New contract boost for Thirsk group’s help for unemployed

THIRSK Clock has been awarded a new contract to advise and assist unemployed adults in Thirsk, Sowerby and District.

The organization, which works principally with young people, is looking forward to widening its remit.

The new contract, which is funded by the Skills Funding Agency, covers the following areas of work:

l Providing one to one support to unemployed adults

l Helping them prepare for employment or education

l Increasing employability skills, such as interview techniques and completing application forms

l Accessing the latest local vacancies

l Providing an opportunity to complete certificates such as health and safety and first aid
