A North Yorkshire travel agent took to the road for a mystery coach tour to raise funds for a local group.
Hays Travel Northallerton manager Nicola Sheppard and her team dressed as elves and organised goody bags, a quiz, raffle and sing-song for the trip – which ended up in York and was enjoyed by more than 40 passengers.
The £360 raised from the trip was handed over last Saturday to Northallerton Scout and Guide Group, which is building new headquarters in the town’s Boroughbridge Road.
Nicola Sheppard, manager at the travel agent, said: “Hays Travel is the UK’s largest independent travel agent and our founder John Hays is passionate about supporting local community projects and charities.
“This year, we chose to support our local scout and guide group and we had a great time getting into the festive spirit on the trip.”
Northallerton Scout and Guide Group chairman Allan McVeigh said: “We are so grateful to Nicola, her enthusiastic staff and generous customers, for making such a fantastic contribution towards our new home.”
Rainbows and Beavers, Cubs and Brownies, Guides, Scouts and Explorers are currently meeting at a variety of venues around the town.
