Carers from Home Instead Senior Care have been busy knitting little hats for Age Uk North Yorkshire’s ‘Spread the Warmth’ winter campaign.
Run in conjunction with innocent Smoothie drinks, each hat knitted to sit on a smoothie bottle will raise 25p towards road shows and forums advising older Hambleton residents how to stay warm this winter.
Margaret Brice Manager of Age Uk North Yorkshire in Northallerton, said the response has been fantastic and they have received in total 2000 of the little knitted hats
Sheena Van Parys of Home Instead Senior Care based in Thirsk said it was great to get involved with the project as the cold winter weather can bring numerous problems for older people.
“To help Age UK North Yorkshire with this event was a great opportunity for us and our carers.”
