The traditional Civic Christmas Eve Carol Concert will be held in Harrogate’s Royal Hall.

The event will be hosted by the Mayor of the Borough of Harrogate Coun Mike Newby and his Consort Clive Kirkham.

This year’s concert will take place on Tuesday, December 24, starting at 6pm with hot refreshments including mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies from 5.30pm.

The concert is traditionally held at Harrogate Borough Council’s Crescent Gardens headquarters, but gales forecast for the night have forced organisers to switch the event to the nearby Royal Hall.

St Aidan’s CE High School Symphonic Wind Band will play, and the concert and carols will start at 6pm.

The Mayor will act as compere for the evening and the Band will be under the direction of Mr Mark Pallant.

Harrogate Lions have volunteered to make a collection on behalf of the Mayor’s charities Supporting Older People and the RwandaChild Choir and all proceeds from the sale of refreshments will also go to the Mayor’s charities.
