Harrogate Grammar School pupils joined staff and guest speaker David Shields of Welcome to Yorkshire at the town’s Royal Hall for its Celebration of Achievement ceremony.

Headmaster Richard Sheriff said: “Despite all the changes to exams and the constant chopping and changing of education policy this year our students did superbly both at GCSE and A level gaining some of the best results in the school’s history.

“But along with the enormous efforts of the young people, and the support from you at home, success requires the commitment and skill of great teachers and support staff.

“I would like to thank the exceptional people who work so hard to make our school so special.”
