YOUNGSTERS at Boroughbridge Primary School have run a cafe for parents serving jacket potatoes.
Pupils from Years 3 and 4 organised the menu and took on different roles during the event held last week – such as waiters, kitchen assistants, drinks servers and till operators.
Teacher Peter Freeman said: “The project was aimed at building teamwork skills and providing a real life event for the children to use literacy and numeracy skills.”
A total of 35 parents attended the event, which also included a raffle, and £100 was raised for charity – the children deciding to share the money between various causes.
The children have also written mock-newspaper reports about the jacket potato cafe.
