Dog club has a bone to pick with rumourmongers

From: Mrs Mary Guest, Halfway Close, Topcliffe Road, Thirsk.

I WRITE as one of the original members of Ripon Dog Training Society which was formed in 1969 and which is the only Kennel Club registered obedience club in the locality.

I understand that rumours are circulating that the above club no longer exists. This is totally untrue and the club continues to offer obedience training classes together with the Kennel Club Good Citizens awards training in the Hugh Ripley Hall, Ripon, every Monday evening from 7pm throughout the year.

Agility classes are also run during the summer months and we hold our annual open obedience show on Ripon racecourse in May; this attracts exhibitors from a wide area.

New members are always welcome and our next new course for beginners starts on Monday, December 10. Further details can be obtained from our new secretary, Lesley Bustard, on 01609 776990, or myself on 01845 577640.
