Witnesses sought after car break in

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was broken into at Catterick Racecourse.

Sometime between 1.30pm and 2pm on Sunday, October 2 the driver’s window of a black Vauxhall Corsa was smashed.

Thieves took a white handbag containing bank cards and a driving licence.

The occupants had left the vehicle in a field opposite while they attended a market at the course.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with information.

Pc Nicola Pattinson, of Catterick Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The market was busy that day and the weather was very bright and warm so there were potentially a lot of people out and about.

“It is possible that someone saw the glass being smashed or witnessed somebody acting suspiciously in the area at the time of incident.

“I would urge anyone who can help the investigation to contact the police or Crimestoppers with information.”
