Harrogate man in hospital after Station Parade stabbing

A 27-year-old man was stabbed twice on a busy Harrogate street yesterday (Friday) evening.

The Harrogate man was stabbed in the leg near the taxi rank on Station Parade at around 6pm.

The attacker then ran off down the crowded street but was chased by a police officer who was patrolling nearby.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on Station Parade and police seized a knife from him. He remains in custody.

The victim was taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police say the area was busy at the time and are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.
