A stolen BMW was involved in at least two collisions in Knaresborough on Saturday.

A 21-year-old man from the area was arrested in connection with the incidents and has been given conditional police bail while the investigation continues.

North Yorkshire Police are seeking witnesses after the car, stolen from Cheapside between 5.30am and 5.50am on Saturday, November 9, was involved in a collision at around 5.50am on Knaresborough High Street near the bus station, during which a sign post, salt bin and flower barrel were damaged.

After driving off, the BMW returned and collided with a parked Vauxhall Corsa on Fisher Street, which then hit another parked car.

Police are investigating the possibility that the vehicle collided with a Renault Clio on Charlton Manor Drive.

Anyone who witnessed the collisions or saw the car around Knaresborough at the time is urged to contact police.
