A Ripon student is holding a concert to raise funds for a charity trip abroad.

Charlotte Noble is planning to fly out to Ethiopia in January next year to work at an orphanage and school in Addis Ababa.

During her time there she will work with disadvantaged children at the orphanage which is run by the Art in Ethiopia charity. Her duties will include helping with the day to day running of the orphanage.

As part of her preparation Charlotte will be training in London for a TEFL Certificate to help her teach English in the orphanage and school

To help with fundraising Charlotte has arranged the concert at Holy Trinity Church on Friday, November 18.

The evening will feature National Championship finalists Ripon City Band, St Aidan’s Girls Choir and Vocal Soloist Alex Ward.

The proceeds will also fund essential items for the orphanage such as reading books, exercise books and pencils.

Tickets are available from Alan Matthews, Kirkgate or from The Salvation Army on 01765 600933
