Cash incentive for 'real nappy' parents

THE use of washable nappies is being promoted by a scheme in Hambleton offering cash incentives to parents.

As part of Real Nappy Week (April 21-27), the York and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership is giving parents the chance to get 30 cash back on the purchase of washable nappies.

A spokesman said: “Modern ‘real’ nappies are easier to use than people think – there is no boiling or soaking and pins are things of the past.”

To qualify for the payment, parents must produce an itemised receipt for the purchase of at least 50-worth of reusable nappies for a baby under 12 months old. Only one claim per baby is allowed and parents expecting a baby will also be able to make a claim.

A special coffee morning will be held on Monday, from 10am-noon, at the town hall in Northallerton where officers will be on hand to answer questions about the scheme.
