A MOOR-SIDE beauty spot is set to become a new sustainable holiday destination.

High Knowle Farm near Masham is due to open a “glamping” site in time for the 2012 holiday season, with building due to be completed by April.

The site borders the historic Druid’s Temple folly on the Swinton Estate, and the new accommodation is a joint venture between Swinton Estate owners the Cunliffe-Listers and Beth and Sam Hardwick.

The new site – called Bivouac Swinton – include a camping barn, luxury yurts, and woodland shacks built from larch cladding from the Swinton Estate, as well as an on-site cafe.

Planning permission was granted for the site in March this year, amid hopes that allowing development on the site would “rebrand” it as a family holiday destination, and help put an end to the late night gatherings and anti-social behaviour the spot had become known for.
