Bank Holiday entertainment and events around Ripon

A BEER festival, a funfair and a motor show are just some of the exciting events happening in and around Ripon this Bank Holiday weekend.


ROBINSON'S Funfair will be on Ripon market square from Friday until Bank Holiday Monday.

REAL ale fans will converge at the One Eyed Rat in Ripon for the pub's annual beer festival. The pub, on Allhallowgate, will have 30 ales from local breweries to try on Friday and Saturday with funds from the event going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The festival begins on Friday at 4pm.


THE Ripon Arts Spring Exhibition of local artists begins at the town hall. Admission to the event, which is open every day between 10am-4pm until May 31, is free.

BOOKWORMS will be able to bag themselves a bargain at Ripon Library when its booksale begins at 9.30pm. Prices start at just 40p.


A CAR boot sale organised by Ripon's Rotary and Inner Wheel clubs takes place at the Ripon Cricket Club ground on Studley Road. Gates open for traders at 7am and the cost is 5 for cars, 6 with a trailer and 7 for vans. Admission for buyers is free.

Bank Holiday Monday

RIPON Spa Park will play host to a spring festival fair and children's tea party from 11am-4pm. It will feature charity stalls, classic cars, children's amusements, bungee jumping, Appalachian Step Dancers, a brass band and other music. The tea party and fancy dress competition take place at 2pm.

MORE than 350 classic cars, commercial vehicles and motorbikes will be parading to Ripley Castle when the 21st Yorkshire Classic Car, 4x4 and Motorcycle Show takes place, from 10am-4pm. Admission to the event is 6 for adults and 2.50 for children.

THE Fearby and Healey WI annual domino drive takes place at the village hall in Fearby, at 7.30pm. Admission is 2 which includes refreshments and good prizes are on offer.
