Marton cum Grafton Community Tennis Courts Association has secured £49,380 National Lottery funding from Sport England.

The money will be used to build two free-to-use hard surface tennis courts on scrubland owned by the parish council which adjoins existing playing fields.

Association chairman Tony Cole said: “We are delighted to have secured this investment, which means we can provide a much needed facility for the community of Marton cum Grafton and surrounding areas.

“The whole village has been involved from the outset in identifying the need for the project, creating the association from scratch, planning and fundraising. “

Marton cum Grafton Community Tennis Courts Association is one of more than 300 projects across England receiving lottery investment from the fourth round of the Inspired Facilities fund.
