A RIPON garden has raised £650 for charity with two open days this year.
Margaret and David Rivers opened the garden at their home on Red Bank Road for the last time in aid of the National Garden Scheme (NGS) and welcomed around 140 visitors in spite of chilly winds.
The Rivers say have been the only participants from the city in the NGS scheme in recent years.
Dr Rivers said: “We have decided that we are unable to continue with the scheme but would like to record our sincere thanks to all our helper and our many visitors who have contributed to a total of over £3,200 to the NGS charities over the last six years.
“We hope someone else in Ripon will pick up the challenge.”
