It’s turning into an epic year for Knaresborough’s celebrity DJ and music producerRory Hoy.

Having fulfilled a boyhood dream to meet Dr Who actor Tom Baker recently, he’s now released an electro swing single with renowned LA-based jazz multi-instrumentalist Sylvain Carton.

Originally from France, Sylvain writes extensively for his own jazz quartet and has been commissioned to write music for a documentary aired on PBS, several independent films, and Oakland’s Counterpointe dance company.

Called 1929, Rory’s electro swing single does just that, mashing up Electro Swing with a classic Big Beat sound to produce a result that is catchy as hell and tremendous fun.

The House/Funk/Breakbeats/Big Beat DJ who is played regularly on Craig Charles’s BBC6 Music Funk & Soul Show, has also received the good news that his tracks are now being used on TV shows and TV adverts in the United States.

Rory said: “2014 is certainly going well. I got my first sync for a couple of tracks, which are now licensed to be played on American TV. I’m hoping they will be the first of many!”

You can download 1929 from iTunes or hear a preview at Rory’s Facebook page.
