After this year’s Great Yorkshire Show was cancelled due to the wet weather, one artist is to stage a mini “Great Yorkshire Show in a teacup” to give art lovers a chance to see the work he was to exhibit at the show.
Harrogate sculptor Steve Blaylock, due to exhibit his work with the Yorkshire Artists Group, has set up a “Great Yorkshire Show in a Tea Cup Sculpture Show” at his home in Killinghall.
The exhibition is open Saturday, July 14 10am-5pm, and Sunday, July 15 10am-3.30pm at 72 Ripon Road, Killinghall, with parking at the Three Horse Shoes.
The Countryside Alliance set up a “virtual show” to help businesses who lost out because of the closure. It lists the suppliers who need to sell off excess stock after the show here.
And visitor attractions including Masham’s Black Sheep Brewery, Newby Hall and Gardens, The World of James Herriot all offered special deals to show ticket holders.
