The Gallery at Masham has raised over £350 for Herriot Hospice Homecare by staging an exhibition of works around the theme ‘Closer to Home’.

Josie Beszant, owner of the Gallery, chose to support the charity, which cares for terminally ill patients in their own homes, as this year it is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The works exhibited included items by local artists and by Josie herself, and a percentage of sales was donated to the charity.

Kathryn Harrison, fundraiser at Herriot Hospice Homecare, said “We are extremely grateful to Josie for agreeing to support us with her latest exhibition and would like to thank her for her generosity. £350 is a fantastic amount of money to have raised and this will be used by us to continue our vital services in the community.”

The Gallery is now showing a new exhibition “Edge of the World” which runs to the end of August.
