more than £4,000 was raised at the annual street fair at Wath near Ripon.
The crowds turned out to see guest of honour, Emmerdale actress Charlotte Bellamy who plays Laurel Thomas, open the event.
And Charlotte was not the only celebrity to take part in the day. Children’s favourite Noddy put in a special appearance to the delight of the younger visitors.
Other attractions included the all female Morris dance troupe, The Buttercross Belles and a vintage tractor.
Altogether the day raised £4,200 for church funds.
Organising committee member Richard Graham said: “Despite a couple of sharp showers, there was an excellent turn-out and the main street looked fantastic with all the stalls, bunting and decorated scarecrows.
“I would like to thank all the helpers and sponsors as well as the George pub who put on a fantastic hog roast and disco in the evening.”
The money raised will help restore three important panels of mediaeval glass above the main church windows.
