Aldborough and Boroughbridge Show

Aldborough and Boroughbridge Show is taking place next month after poor weather over the summer forced its postponement.

The event will be held at Pump Field on Sunday, September 2, with horse classes beginning at 9am and the event being officially opened by local Olympic torchbearers at 11.30am.

The event was originally scheduled to take place on July 22 but because of the weather organisers were only able to hold the show’s craft classes at an alternative indoor location.

Attractions at the re-scheduled event include horse and donkey classes featuring a shire horse demonstration, private driving, pony rides, a sow with piglets, petting farm with reindeer, donkey sanctuary, vintage tractors and cars, barrel ride, bouncy castle, bungee trampolining, facepainting, terrier racing, brass band, craft tent and many tradestands.

The Inch Perfect Motorbike display team will also be performing its show two or three times throughout the day and the Boroughbridge Young Farmers will be welcoming prospective new members and running competitions.

There will also be a hog roast, bar, picnic area and other refreshments and drinks.

An hourly minibus service for show-goers will operate from the White Swan in Minskip to Pump Field, stopping on the way at Springfield Garth, Aldborough Village Hall, the Black Bull in Boroughbridge, and the Fox and Hounds in Langthorpe. The service starts at 10am and departs the show field at 30 minutes past the hour

lEntry to the show is adults £5, children free.
