FLOWERS are the way to any woman's heart it seems - whatever their age.
And at 97, Anne Cartwright was possibly the oldest woman in Tadcaster to receive some yesterday after she was presented with a huge colourful bouquet to mark Mother's Day.

Mrs Cartwright is the oldest resident at Highfield Care Home at Scarthingwell near Tadcaster and, in the absence of her family who were unable to be there on the day, she was given the beautiful bunch by staff member and activities co-ordinator Richard Sweeting.

"How wonderful," she said. "These flowers are absolutley beautiful. Thank you so much."
