Bad weather created a few issues in Saturday’s Theakston Nidderdale League programme, but Ouseburn’s march towards the title did not waiver.
They beat Helperby by two wickets.
Joe Corner (67) and Dan Marston (39) batted Helperby to 179-7 against the bowling of Sam Dale (3-33).
Dale then swapped ball for bat,hitting 60 to pave the way for an Ouseburn victory at 181-8, despite the best efforts of Matt Cavanagh (4-43).
Spofforth thumped Bishop Thornton by 145 runs, Will Long the mainstay of the innings with a century of 153 not out.
James Roberts added 52 and Joe Horne 37 as Spoff’ posted 313-5.
Luke Forge hit back for Thornton with 86, and Will Wray 53, but Simon Old’s 3-54 had them all out for 168.
Killinghall picked up a four-wicket win over Blubberhouses, Bash Khan (57no) and Sajid Khan (55no) steering ‘Houses to 167-3.
NicK Richardson’s 78 not out led Killinghall to 171-6 in reply, Sajid Khan bagging 4-55.
Goldsborough beat Darley by eight wickets, J Rice (49) topscoring in Darley’s 150-8.
Damon Ive (73no) and Ben Mackrill (45no) steered Goldsborough over the line at 151-2.
Alne lost out to Hampsthwaite, bowled out for 106 with Anthony Johnston (4-17) the chief destroyer.
Andy Taylor (48) directed Hamp’ home at 107-5.
Adam Smith’s 74 had taken Masham to 136-4 when their game against Dacre Banks was abandoned.
In Division Two, Pannal’s game against Bolton Abbey was abandoned with Abbey at 279-1.
A stunning century from Kevin Holme (126no) plus another from Andrew Jennings (116) had seen Bolton race to 279-1.
Pannal were beginning their fightback at 91-0, Andy Ellis on 56 not out, when the heavens opened.
Pateley Bridge’s contest with Burton Leonard was also abandoned.
Mike Eglin (33) had taken Pateley to 104-3 when it ended.
Birstwith enjoyed a 104-run win over Newby Hall, Dan Riley (810 and Craig Armitage (63) firing Birstwith to 245-9 while Grant Leivers bagged 5-51.
Dave Wallis (63) topscored for Newby but Nick Wain 94-230 and Andy Heard (4-44) had them all out for 141.
Galphay and Winskley managed 150-8 against Knaresborough Forest through Trent Grabham (58) and Jack Richards (42) but the match was abandoned at tea.
West Tanfield posted 147-6 against Studley Royal, Steve Ryan (36) and Harry Glatman (31) the pick of the batsman.
Dan Coad had made 367 when Studley’s innings were abandoned.
Meanwhile, four sides had their promotions confirmed this week with four games to go.
Wath and Melmerby were promoted in Division Five, while Ripley 3rds went up from Division Eight.
Arthington 2nds were promoted as champions of Division Nine, going up alongside Thirsk 3rds.
The Nidderdale League’s representative side will taken on an MCC XI on Wednesday August 28, at Alne Cricket Club.
Wickets are pitched at 11am.
