Harrogate Rugby Club is staging an open day for members and their families at its new clubhouse and grounds this Saturday, 22 November.

Members will be able to tour the two-storey clubhouse and view the four pitches at the club’s new home at Rudding Lane, Follifoot from 11am to 3pm, .

Clive Wright, the club’s commercial chairman, will be on hand to answer any questions from members and families about the new facilities. Clive said: “The clubhouse is not yet fully fitted out but the building is virtually ready and safe to have a look round before the final works are completed.

“This is a great opportunity for members to get a first look at our fantastic new facilities and where they will be playing once we have moved from Claro Road next year.”

The rugby club has launched its £200,000 Cockerel Appeal to help cover the remaining cost of its new home, the majority of which has been funded by the club’s deal with developers Crest who bought the current Claro Road ground.

The official launch of the Cockerel Appeal took place at The Deer House at Rudding Holiday Park, attended by club officials, supporters, potential sponsors and the Mayor and Mayoress of Harrogate Councillor Jim Clark and Councillor Shirley Fawcett.
