Dudley and Munro first home for Runners

Wetherby Runners have been busy in action at the Guy Fawkes 10 and the second race of the Yorkshire Cross Country League.

The Runners’ men’s and women’s teams consolidated their strong performances from the first race at the Bramley Park event on Saturday.

Triathlon star Jonny Dudley was the first finisher for the club ahead of Richard Bell, Paul Millgate, Joseph Kwallah, Jamie Thompson, Paul Windle and Peter Allanach.

The ladies weren’t to be outdone and put in a great performance to match. Pauline Munro finished third with newest Wetherby Runner Sarah Hodgson seventh and Lisa Mawer 11th.

Emma Megarry, Emily Legg and Julie Bucknell were also counted for the girls. Robert Etherington and Stella Cross both won the Under 15s Boys and Girls races respectively.

Wetherby Runners made a good show at the Guy Fawkes 10 mile race. More than 800 runners took part.

Robert Whittaker was first home for the club (124th overall), followed by Julie Bucknell, Richard Bell, Dawn Downie, Jacky Darley, Michelle Cheung, Jo Keenan and Nykie Duffy.
