Harrogate Nova’s Duncan Mullier secured the 2014 Beech House Dental Practice Evening Time Trial League championship in style with his tenth straight victory.
Riders took on the 13-mile course from Milby to Asenby and Dishforth before returning to Milby via Kirby Hill. Mullier continued his dominance of the league by winning in 29:01.
The Harrogate cyclist had finished runner up for the last four seasons. but secured the championship in favourable conditions, with a strong headwind start and a fast tailwind finish.
Nova’s Paul Caswell was second in 29:23 with Patron’s Glen Turnbull third in 29:43.
Mike Hudson leads the vet-50 competition, and Richard Bellery leads the vet-60 with eight events remaining - with each riders best nine results counting towards their league position.
Victory for Nova’s Alison Sarmiento in the ladies competition in 4:29 also put her in pole position for a maiden league title. Ride of the night was by veteran Richard Salden, who knocked nearly three minutes off his previous course best.
In open time trials, a number of Harrogate Nova members took part in the Drighlington CC 10 mile TT, with Alison Sarmiento taking second lady in a time of 26:11.
Steve Smales placed third overall in 21:44, Mike Hudson recorded a time of 23:55, with vet-60 rider Tony Kent recording 24:38.
