Professional Thai boxer Sarah Gibbs from the Kao Loi Gym at Hornbeam Park has won the International Thai Boxing Federations lightweight British title.
She won via a stunning performance against Emma Thomas from the famous Master Toddy gym in Thailand.
Gibbs was nervous beforehand but quickly took control. At one point in the third round forced her opponent out of the ring and onto the judges table. Thomas resumed the fight but from the middle of the fourth round, the outcome was as good as decided.
The Bangkok fighter needed a stoppage however it was Gibbs who came the closestwith a body punch close to the final bell.
Gibbs said: “I am so happy and can’t wait to fight in front of my home crowd at the Pavilions in October. “ “I’d like to thank everyone at Kao Loi and all those who came to support me.”
