NORTHALLERTON Stallions Rugby League Club are now pressing ahead with squad-building having reached agreement with the town's rugby union club to use its ground.
Having been given the green light by the game’s governing body to join the Co-Operative Rugby League Conference, the club were further boosted by the news that the Stallions will be based at the Northallerton RUFC Brompton Lodge facilities where they will train and play their home games.
Head Coach Steve Worsnop says that the agreement to use Brompton Lodge is a major boost for the fledgling club: “We are delighted that the Rugby Union Club have made their facilities available to us and thank them for their support.
“It will be a real advantage to be based within a rugby environment and hopefully both clubs will benefit from what we hope will be a long-term arrangement,” he said.
“Such partnerships exist extensively in the Rugby League Conference as the seasons do not overlap, and have proved successful for other clubs. We fully expect this to be as successful”.
Following the open evening on Wednesday at The Standard on Northallerton High Street, training will commence at Brompton Lodge on Tuesday, February 5 at 7pm.
Anyone wishing to have a try at the sport or who has played before and is interested in getting back into rugby league is invited to go along.
