Harrogate Town have made former Guiseley defender Rhys Meynell their fifth recruit of the summer.
The left-back, who can also play in midfield, was released from Town’s West Yorkshire rivals at the end of last season, and was available as a free agent.
Meynell started his career at Barnsley but failed to make a first team appearance for the Tykes in three years as a senior at the club.
He spent 2008 on loan at Gretna in the Scottish club’s final season of existence in the Scottish Premier League, making 16 appearances.
After being released by Barnsley, the 25-year-old moved to Skrill North side Stalybridge Celtic where he played 39 times.
He then signed for Telford United but was quickly snapped up by Chester City.
Following a year-long stint on the west coast, the defender moved to Ireland for a season at Galway United before he returned to Stalybridge at the end of 2010.
Meynell then went to Guiseley at the start of the 2012/13 season and stayed with the Lions for two seasons.
