Goal machine Nathan Cartman struck a second successive hat-trick as Harrogate Railway cruised past ten-man Ossett Town 4-0.
Cartman, one of the country’s hottest goalscorers this season, followed up his treble against Salford City last Saturday to lead Rail up to 11th in Evo-Stik First Division North.
The striker now has 27 goals this season, with 23 scored in the league.
He opened the scoring after just three minutes before Ossett had Sam Akeroyd sent off for reacting to Fatlum Ibrahimi’s fierce challenge five minutes before the break - Ibrahimi earning a yellow card.
Cartman doubled his tally on 64 minutes before completing his hat-trick ten minutes later.
Ibrahimi rubbed salt into Town’s wounds with a late thunderbolt for Railway’s fourth as Billy Miller’s men won back-to-back league matches for the first time since September 8.
Ibrahimi tweeted: “Different class by @THERAILFC boys. 4-0 win Great start to the weekend #family #onfire”
Meanwhile, Liam Ormsby was Tadcaster Albion’s hero for a second week running as his brace took the high fliers past Morpeth Town in the FA Vase second round.
After beating Albion Sports 2-1 last week with a last minute penalty, the midfielder repeated the trick with an injury-time spot-kick to down the Northern League opposition.
He had put Albion into a 1-0 lead at half-time before Morpeth levelled matters after the break.
With the clock ticking down, the midfielder, son of former Leeds United captain Brendan, showed he had nerves of steel again to slot home a match-winning penalty and take the NCEL Premier league leaders into round three.
Captain Nick Thompson tweeted: “We don’t mind leaving it late at the minute!! Ormsby has nerves of steel! And not a bad right foot either!!”
Midfielder Tom Claisse added: “Big win!! Into the hat for the next round, brilliant support again we keep going @TadcasterAlbion.”
